This study aims to investigate:
eSports (electronic sports) are competitive video game tournaments, often organized multiplayer games, played by professional gamers, either individually or in teams. eSports is also a growing massive online spectator sport.
Recently, (August, 2019) 17,000 esports fans descended on Rod Laver Arena for the second Melbourne Esports Open (MEO)
The Olympic Council of Asia has also announced that eSports will be included as an official medal event in the 2022 competition in Hangzhou, reflecting the “rapid development and popularity of this new form of sports participation among the youth”
In the past few years, a national League of Legends High Schools eSports competition has emerged and there is currently little known about the young people playing and their aspirations, experiences, attitudes and behaviours.
